Preparation

Things are a bit busy because I'm preparing for a couple of sermons in November. One is a continuation on my series on theology, specifically the second part of Christology.

The second is part of a series my church is doing on Galatians, and I have been assigned 2:1-10. Does Galatians 2:1-10 describe the events of Acts 11 or Acts 15?

I decided Acts 11, although in some ways the understanding of the passage is not greatly changed by either decision. I find Acts 11 makes Peter's actions spoken of after that more understandable. Having said that men I respect would say it is Acts 15, but I still believe Acts 11 fits better.

Thanks Jim. I tend to agree. It is more in keeping with Paul's statement in Galatians about this being his second visit, and provides a better logical flow for the events of Acts 15. F.F. Bruce in NIGTC follows this line, though that specific commentary focuses more on the text than the historical order or theology of the passage.
