Text of my Letter

Today I sent the following letter to the Governor General of Canada:

Your Excellency,

There is much debate about the issue of abortion in our country. But what is beyond debate is that this is a very divisive issue, with strong partisans on both sides. By awarding the Order of Canada to Dr. Henry Morgentaler, you have made a strong political statement pushing one ideological agenda. This has politicized both your Office and the Order of Canada, and in doing so you have diminished both these great institutions. I am profoundly disappointed.
